About

Kalos Art Conservation is a painting conservation practice dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage across historic and contemporary contexts founded by Giovanna Carravieri Mastropaolo.

Born in Milan and trained in Italy and France, Giovanna brings over three decades of international experience in painting conservation. She holds degrees in Archeology and Art History from the University La Sapienza in Rome and in the Conservation of Easel and Wall Paintings, as a Qualified Agent of Cultural Heritage from the Conservation school C.R. Forma of Cremona (Italy).

Her professional experience spans museums, historic monuments, private collections, galleries, and archaeological contexts across Europe, India, and the United States. She has contributed to the conservation of significant historic interiors, fresco cycles, modern and contemporary artworks, and complex mixed-media projects.

In addition to hands-on conservation practice, Giovanna maintains active engagement with scientific and technical research in the field, including continuing education in chemistry, analytical methods, and materials science for cultural heritage.
